DR Yunus Akintunde, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Thursday urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Easter to reflect on the need to make sacrifices for national rebirth.
Akintunde, in his Easter felicitation message released by his media office and made available to Mega Icon Magazine explained that Jesus Christ whose birth and resurrection are being celebrated at Easter, chose to sacrifice His precious life to enable others have life in God.
He, therefore, enjoined Nigerians, especially Christians, to emulate Christ by making the sacrifices required for the rebirth of Nigeria so that the future of the younger generation can be assured.
Akintunde further averred that the journey to greatness always requires determination, commitment and sacrifice which make travellers on that path to focus more on tomorrow more than today, a decision noted helps them shun immediate reward and pleasure that can terminate the journey.
He also urged Christians in Oyo State to keep embracing Christ-like lifestyle that is regarded world-wide and from generation to generation.
By sustaining this godly life, the governorship aspirant said the collective efforts of all citizens will surely take the country back to her rightful place in the committee of great nations.
He felicitated with all Christians, stressing that the grace to be alive to witness another Easter should be appreciated.
He also urged them to use the season to pray for economic prosperity of Nigeria and peace in all parts of the country.
