Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus debut to be shown live on Facebook for FREE

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S debut for Juventus is set to be shown live on Facebook for FREE, as Eleven Sports create a historic partnership with Serie A and La Liga.

Eleven Sports are planning to show at least one Italian and Spanish top-flight game per week for absolutely nothing.

GETTY: Cristiano Ronaldo will make his Juventus debut live on Facebook

And their first trick will be to show former Real Madrid star Ronaldo’s first game for the Old Lady against Chievo.

The game will take place on Saturday, August 18 – with kick-off at 5pm BST – and will be shown on Eleven Sports’ UK Facebook page.

As well as Juve’s new £99million man hitting the free-to-air Facebook channel, there will be two other games in the opening weekend.

As well as Chievo vs Juventus, Girona vs Valladolid and Valencia vs Atletico Madrid will hit the computer monitors.

Danny Menken, group managing director of Eleven Sports had his say on the unprecedented stunt.

He said: “By making Facebook our free-to-air partner, we are giving our leading content centre stage projection.

“[We’re] opening it up to new and diverse audiences and confirming again our innovative leadership in the global sports media industry.

“In all our global markets we want to be where the fans are.

“We aim to serve fan communities and develop interaction and engagement around our content, while ensuring we are always accessible and easy to reach.

“Our unique free-to-air partnership with Facebook helps us to do this as part of our fresh and contemporary approach to distribution.”
