Buhari to Present Score Card, Holds Empowerment Programme Tuesday

SENATOR Abdulfatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District is billed to hold a town hall meeting and empowerment programme on Tuesday, 13th February, 2018.

The empowerment programme is one of the ways through which the lawmaker reaches out to his constituents.

Buhari, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime has in the last two years facilitated several projects, moved  motions and sponsored  bills that will hasten development of his senatorial district. Few of the bills are Establishment of Federal University of Agriculture, Oke Ogun and Federal Polytechnic, Ogbomoso which have successfully scaled first and second readings respectively.

Asides the payment of millions of Naira for  WAEC fees of students in secondary schools, Buhari has also facilitated several trainings in agriculture and skill acquisition for the youths in his senatorial district, built ICT centres, donated cash and other valuable materials to various groups, individuals , communities, including organizations to boost their activities for economic advantage.

His 2016 empowerment program was adjudged  unprecedented in the history of western Nigeria and probably Nigeria at large considering the huge number of beneficiaries and items distributed.

Senator Buhari in a press statement made available to Mega Icon Magazine assured that the items and beneficiaries of 2018 empowerment program would be more than the previous editions. Also at the event, the legislator will present stewardship account of his journey at the National Assembly to his constituents.

Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion which is scheduled to commence by 10 am at the New National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp, Iseyin include the Governor of Oyo state , Senator Abiola Ajimobi and his wife, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo Alake.

Others are, the Speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Adeyemo and his colleagues, members of the state executive council, APC leaders and members among others.
