Senator Abdulfatai Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District  has requested for urgent reconstruction of  Iseyin-Oyo and  Igbeti- Ilorin roads in Oke Ogun area of Oyo state.

The Iseyin – Oyo road is one of the worst roads in the region, the journey of 45 minutes now takes more than 5hours due to the deplorable condition of the road and the alternative route which links Iseyin to Moniya is also in pathetic shape.

Apart from the condition of the roads linking Igbeti to Ilorin, Kwara state capital, a major bridge on the route has collapsed making it difficult for motorists to move freely.

Senator Buhari, in a letter  written to  the Minister of Works and Housing, former governor Babatunde Raji Fashola submitted:  “the two bridges on the road  linking the entire Oke Ogun axis had broken down, thus affecting the free movement of goods and people.

“We appeal to you on these roads which house 10 local governments in my Senatorial District, they are the only two roads that link the entire Oke Ogun area of Oyo state, Oyo /Iseyin serves as the west axis, while Igbeti –Ilorin serves as the North Axis.

“The 10 Local governments are, Iseyin   Itesiwaju, Kajola, Iwajowa, Orelope, Saki West, Saki East, Olorunsogo  Irepo, Atisbo”.

The lawmaker, in a chat with newsmen informed that he is not leaving any stone unturned in   ensuring that the roads are fixed as soon as possible, assuring  that Oyo- Ogbomoso road would  be completed in not too distance future
