GOVERNOR Abiola Ajimobi has described Senator Abdulfatai Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District, as the best senator in Oyo state.
The governor, who stated this while commending patriotic and developmental drive of the Senator, at the second edition of Senator Buhari Abdulfatai Empowerment Programme, held on Tuesday, at the National Youth Service Corps camp added: “I won’t be wrong if I say Senator Buhari is the best Senator in Oyo state, he performed better than I do when I was at the Senate , he deserve to be commended for the good job”. APC is lucky to have people with genuine interest to serve the masses , Senator Buhari is a true representative of the people of Oyo North”.
Commenting on political development in the state, the governor reassured that the party will not impose any candidate for councillorship and local government chairmanship election. He, however called for more understanding in careful selection of candidates in the forthcoming election by the party.
Also speaking at the event, the Apc Chairman in Oyo state, Chief Akin Oke, in his address commended the lawmaker for keeping to his campaign promises, describing him as a good ambassador of the party in the state.
Oke who led the party executives submitted: “The party appreciates Senator Buhari’s milk of kindness and urge the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials”.
Thousands of people, including traditional rulers, artisans, students, widows, religious organizations, and communities drawn from the 13 local government areas of the Senatorial district benefited from the program.
Items distributed are 36 cars, 300 motorcycles, 300 sewing machines, over 400 grinding machines, 40 deep freezers, Generators and 13 electric transformers
Buhari, also distributed N20,000 each as bursary award to 200 students of tertiary institutions and N25,000 each to 200 widows carefully selected across the Senatorial district
Earlier in his welcome address, the donor, Buhari who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime said the empowerment program was organized to appreciate his constituents and also to support them for economic advancement.
While urging his constituents to keep faith with the present APC government led by President Muhammadu Buhari, the lawmaker noted : “We are not unmindful of the myriad of challenges facing the country at this moment, I want to implore you all to keep faith with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC). We will not let you down. All our campaign promises will be met and we shall move the country to a greater height.
“We sincerely acknowledge and appreciate your patience, steadfastness, understanding and support. I want to repeat, this government is determined and working assiduously to rebuild every sector of the country and make life meaningful for the people.
