Breaking: APC shifts Oyo central senatorial district primary election to tomorrow

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Tuesday postponed its Oyo Central Senatorial primary election earlier billed for today.

The Council Chief of Akinyele South Local Council Development Area, Mr Ayobami Akinpelu disclosed this while addressing hundreds of APC members gathered at the council secretariat in Akinyele Local Government.

According to him, voting materials have not arrived from Abuja hence the need for the suspension of the exercise till tomorrow.

He urged members to remain calm and avoid any act that capable of tarnishing the image of the party.

However, it was gathered that the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi urged aspirants to step down for each other for the interest of peace.

Some of the members who spoke with Mega Icon Magazine said any imposition of aspirant will jeopardize the chances of APC in winning the senatorial district.

They explained that the just concluded governorship primary election of the party was credible, urging leaders of the party to respect the people’s opinion.

As at press time, the governor is currently holding meeting with all the senatorial aspirants in APC at the Agodi Government House, our reporter reliably gathered.
