Oyo State Government on Thursday urged Ogunkanmi Community in Akinyele Local Government and Iware in Afijio Local Government area of the State to embrace peace.
The government, through the state Surveyor General, Surveyor Alaba Sokore made this appeal during a boundary dispute – peace meeting which took place at Akinyele Local Government Conference Room, Ibadan, the state capital.
He said the present administration in the State under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde would not allow anybody to destroy the peace and tranquility being enjoyed by the people of Oyo State.
The surveyor General enjoined the two communities to embrace peace as the State Government will look into their complaints and provide a lasting solution.
Remarking, the leaders of the two communities Comerade Akin Adesina and Prince Bamigbade Muyiwa hailed the state government efforts in the settlement process of boundary dispute, assuring that they would give peace a chance to reign.
