Arsene Wenger has reportedly turned down an offer to take over as Saint-Etienne’s new boss.
The Frenchman took charge of his final game as Arsenal manager last Sunday as he watched his side beat Huddersfield 1-0.
And he has already been offered a route back into management in his homeland.
According to Le Sport, Saint-Etienne have been in contact about Wenger replacing Jean-Louis Gasset, despite him leading the club to an eighth-place finish in Ligue Une.
The club endured a turbulent season, initially replacing Oscar Garcia with former player Julien Sable who it emerged did not hold the relevant qualifications.
Wenger is expected to take some time to consider his options before returning to work.
