“We had a break, last two or three weeks we faced that problem. We don’t fight for the championship people know on and off that will not change.”
Why Cech missed Stoke clash
Veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech was ruled out of Arsenal’s clash with Stoke City on Sunday with a groin injury.
The Czech international was a notable name absent from the Gunners teamsheet, with understudy David Ospina taking over between the sticks and youngster Matt Macey added to the bench.
It is not yet clear how long Cech’s groin problem will keep him out for, although he must now be considered a doubt for Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final tie at home to CSKA Moscow.
Ospina has played in most of Arsenal’s Europa League matches this season, with Cech left on the bench.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed the injury, but said he was hopeful Cech might be fit for midweek.
“He woke up yesterday with a sore groin and he’s not available,” said the Gunners boss. “But I hope he’ll be available for Thursday.”
