Arsenal fans are frustrated by the appointment of Mike Dean as referee for the north London derby against Tottenham on Saturday.
The 49-year-old has flirted with controversy throughout his career, and is known to flash red cards (he brandished five last season, more than any other referee in the Premier League) and award penalties quicker than most in the game.
This could be extremely bad news for Arsenal, who have already conceded two penalties this season – both of which were converted.
What’s more, Gunners’ goalkeeper Petr Cech has yet to save a penalty in Arsenal colours since joining the club back in 2015.
Not only that but he has only managed to dive the right way on three of these occasions, meaning Arsenal will have to be very careful in the box on Saturday.
Tottenham are yet to concede a penalty this season, but they have had a player sent off in Serge Aurier. Like Arsenal, they’ll need to be on their best behaviour.
Tensions are expected to be high for the game, which Arsenal would have traditionally been favourites for, ahead of the last two seasons.
And with Dean in the middle, you can expect some sort of drama… even if it’s not the kind you were expecting.
