Arsenal transfer news: Unai Emery wants £22.5million for Alex Iwobi with Lazio interested

ARSENAL have put a £22.5million price tag on Alex Iwobi amid interest from Lazio.

The Serie A giants are in the market for a winger after flogging Felipe Anderson to West Ham this month.

And, according to Italian publication Il Messaggero, Iwobi is one of two Gunners on their wishlist.

The other player is flop striker Lucas Perez, who it is claimed has a similar asking price.

Versatile winger Iwobi, 22, has seen his progress stall at Arsenal since breaking into the first team in 2015.

The Nigeria international has 26 Premier League appearances last season, netting three times.

But it is believed the new Emirates boss Unai Emery is willing to sacrifice Iwobi as he overhauls the squad he inherited from Arsene Wenger.

Iwobi played in all three of Nigeria’s games as they were eliminated in the group stages of the World Cup in Russia last month.

Emery has already let Arsenal midfield mainstays Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla leave this summer, while Danny Welbeck could also be on his way out

The Spanish boss has made five signings, including Lucas Torreira, Sokratis and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
