And like Manchester United did with Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsenal are looking at renaming their West Stand, according to reports.

Arsenal shareholder Darren revealed on Twitter: “Arsenal are giving consideration into naming the West Stand the Arsene Wenger Stand at the Emirates.”

Wenger won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his time at the club.

The Red Devils renamed their North Stand the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand in 2011 to recognise the Scot’s 25 years at the club.

The hunt for the next Arsenal boss is still on with Juventus boss Max Allegri favourite.

SunSport understands Arsenal have drawn up a 14-man shortlist as they look to replace Wenger.

And Jose Mourinho’s No2 Rui Faria has also emerged as a shock contender for the job, as revealed by SunSport.

Faria, 42, has worked with Mourinho since 2001, first as a fitness coach and then as his assistant.
