In a brazen daylight robbery on Friday, armed assailants targeted a road safety officer identified only as Abu, as he made his way home from a bank in Zango, Lokoja, Kogi State.

An eyewitness recounted that the robbers trailed Abu on his motorcycle from the bank to Lokongoma Phase One, where they intercepted him near Lokongoma market. A struggle ensued over the money, resulting in Abu being shot three times in his legs and shoulder.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Police Command reported recovering N139,000 from the scene of the crime. Abu was promptly rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment following the attack.
