A former Governor of Osun State and the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was absent on Thursday when the state honoured all past governors, including military administrators of the state as part of the activities to celebrate 30th anniversary of its creation.
Having served a two-term tenure, Aregbesola occupied the Abere Government Secretariat between 2010-2018.
The state, also honoured philanthropists, industrious citizens who have contributed to its development and the nation at large.
The event which had in attendance, Governors Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, former Ogun State Governor, Prince Gbenga Daniel, was well attended by politicians and other dignitaries.
It was an exciting moment refreshing memories when the incumbent governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola decorated former military administrators and governors of the state since its creation in 1991.
Governor Oyetola was in turn decorated by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
The late Isiaka Adeleke, who was the first civilian governor of the state, was also honoured with a minute silence.
However, Aregbesola was not at the occasion that was meant to celebrate Osun state 30th anniversary. The reason for the minister’s absence at such an historic event could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
Could it be that the former governor was not around or not invited ? This is a question only Aregbesola , Oyetola and their allies can answer.
