THE annual appreciation day of the Fuji lcon, Alhaji Taye Akande Adebisi popularly known as ‘Currency’ , dubbed ‘Apesin Day’ billed for Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Top One Garden, Podo, Ibadan set to provide an avenue for fast rising fuji artistes to showcase their talents with fresh, original, creative and inspiring rhythms they will have to generate live on stage.
‘Apesin’ as he is fondly called was a title given to the Fuji Idol, Taye Currency by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola, the Alaafin of Oyo five years ago to appreciate his effort and dexterity on Fuji music.
Speaking on the programme, his media director, Mr. Tope Eluyefa explained that the celebration is an annual event to appreciate fans,friends and family who has been consistently following his music.
Taye Currency while speaking through his media aide said, “apart from appreciating the fans, it is also a platform to recognise our sing-alike up and coming Fuji artistes. Some of them are closer to us, some never saw me but like to sing like me, we will use the opportunity to recognise them and bring them into our family and above all, assist them.
“This is a platform to help truly creative fuji musicians to ride the waves of their careers to fame and fortune.
“This year’s event will be spectacular with the introduction of awards and incentives by Alhaji Taye Currency, the Apesin of Fuji world wide for these artistes who believe in us because there are several fuji Musicians in Oyo State and Nigeria, but they decided to follow my footsteps, I really appreciate them” Tope added.
He, also hinted that the event slated for Top One Garden would commence by 12 noon with a cap and a T-Shirt as pass.
“It is incontestable that Taye Currency has become an household name in the Fuji industry and this is the time to give back to the society, we are investing in people and empowering the young ones for the future”.
The Ibadan based fuji star, however expressed his profound gratitude to everyone, especially his numerous fans on the acceptance of his fast selling album, titled ‘Favour and Achievement’.
