ANTOINE GRIEZMANN will demand a staggering £400,000-a-week to snub Barcelona and join Manchester United.

The French superstar has been lined up in an £89m deal by Jose Mourinho to join United next summer.

It is understood he was keen on a switch to the Red Devils last year, but Barca have since shown interest.

United have now been told their initial wage offer of £290,000-a-week is way short of what Griezmann wants.

He is asking for an extra £100,000-a-week MORE than that now, after seeing the huge sums other stars have gone for.

An Old Trafford source said: “The goalposts have moved significantly since the first attempt to sign Griezmann.

“The package offered last year which was agreed is now a lot less than what he wants next summer.

“It might be too much even for us to afford. The club is desperate to sign him but it is an awful lot of money.

“His people are making different demands which the club might be reluctant to give in to.”

Reports earlier this month suggested Mourinho could move for Griezmann during the January transfer window.

Atletico will almost certainly reject any offers for him this month, but are willing to part with him in the summer.

The 26-year-old joined the Spanish side from Real Sociedad in 2014 for around £24m.
