Alvaro Morata admits “Of course I would return” to play for Real Madrid again

Alvaro Morata has admitted he would return to Real Madrid despite being sold by the club less than four months ago.

The 25-year-old had two spells at the Bernabeu after Zinedine Zidane’s side exercised their buy back clause in Morata’s Juventus contract. But the Spaniard’s second stint at Real wasn’t a successs.

The Spaniard moved to Chelsea in the summer for £58million and has settled to life well in west London, scoring eight goals in 15 appearances.

But on Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, Morata revealed he would be open to a third spell at Los Blancos.

“Of course I would return to Real Madrid, but it’s complicated,” Morata told the radio’s main football programme El Larguero .

“I told the coach I wanted to play more. That I wanted to go is foolishness. I felt important for Madrid, but I wanted to play in the Champions League knockout stages.

“I’ve never said a bad word of Madrid nor will I say it. Always I wish them the best. I’m a fan of Madrid but a Chelsea player.”

The comments come as a surprise after the Blues striker claimed he was “treated like a child” during his second spell at Real.

“There were contractual agreements to be respected,” Morata told Gazetta dello Sport . “The disappointment was enormous.

“I went back to the starting point, they treated me like the child I was before the two seasons in Italy.

“I went as a child and I became a real player, I would never have left Italy and Juve, I miss Italy very much.”
