“In 1960, you rewarded the efforts and yearnings of our past leaders by granting us Independence from the shackles of colonialism. Since then, we have survived only through Your mercies and grace.

“As we mark today our 62nd Independence Anniversary may Your mercies abound in all the multi faceted areas of our National life-Replace despair with hope, insecurity with peace, disunity with togetherness and love.

“Above all,  help us to bequeath a nation of Justice, Prosperity Love and Tranquility to future Generations, Amen”
