Akintola’s family turns former premier home to resource centre

Samuel Ladoke Akintola Foundation on Thursday disclosed that its using part of the country home of the former premier of the western region as a resource centre for academic research 

The Coordinator of the foundation, Mr. Yemi Adedokun made this known at a press confrence and facility tour of the building held in Ogbomoso.

He stresses that the children of the late premier have resolved to restructure  the facilities for public use, adding that Dr. Bimbo Akintola and other members of the family are committed to ensure that the resource centre is of international standard with e-library, recreation centre and others

‘Already we are working on the library with over 5000 books found in Baba’s library, work has also commenced in fixing the olympic size swimming pool and other things that will bring real pictute of what the late sage have in mind when building the house’

He further unearthed that the family is also planning to restore the statue of the late sage at the parliamentary road and the motion he moved for independence will be fixed by its side.

Unveiling the programme of activities lined up for the 52 remembrance activities billed for January 12,  2018, Adedokun assured  that notable personalities including the governors of the Southwest, traditional rulers and captains of industry are expected at the event.

‘Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state will deliver a lecture entitled ‘Democracy, National Integration and National Development while  Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state and Governor Aminu Tambuwa of Sokoto state are the lead discussant.
