Former Oyo state governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala on Wednesday debunked a statement credited to the Chairman, Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Engr. Najeem Omirinde over the purchase of a borehole drilling rig.
Omirinde, during an interactive meeting with the Steering Committee on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), drawn from various agencies of the State government on Wednesday in Ibadan, had claimed that no administration ever bought borehole drilling rig since 1995. He stated this while commending the Seyi Makinde-led government for purchasing a rig.
However, Alao-Akala, on his verified Facebook page said as governor he procured thirty-three brand new borehole drilling machines for the state.
The former governor’s post reads, “Re: No Oyo Governor Has Bought Drilling Machine In 25 Years Except Makinde.
“As Executive Governor of Oyo State, I procured thirty-three brand new borehole drilling machines.
#MoYaLookaway!”
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also dropped some pictures during the inauguration of the machines.
