Ajumose Inter-school competition aims to discover talents – Oyo Commissioner

THE Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela has said that the yearly Ajumose Inter-School  Sports Festival is aimed to discover talents.

Olowofela  stated this on Wednesday during this year’s edition of Ajumose Inter-school Sports Festival organized by the state’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in conjunction with the Ministry of Youths and Sports at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba in Ibadan.

Speaking at the finale of three days sporting event, the commissioner stated that aside sports, the parade by para-military cadets from Government College, Ibadan modelled after men of Nigerian army.

The ex-council boss, Olowofela added that the excellent performance of the students in this year’s competition shows the state has brighter future in the hands of the gallant children who are doing the state proud.

“I thank God this year’s Ajumose Inter-school Sports Festival becomes a success. We have scout here who are watching the sporting competition and excellent performance of the children.

“Through this competition, we are raising talents and discover those that can represent the country in various sporting competitions in the future.

“And we have as well seen the cadets paramilitary whose performance modelled after the men of Nigerian army have performed very well”, the commissioner said.

Meanwhile, the overall winners in the competition were students from Saki with 9 gold medals while second overall winners were Ogbomoso students and third overall were Ibadan students.
