Ajorosun College of Health Technology, a leading private health institution in Oyo State, achieved a significant milestone on Thursday as it held its maiden matriculation ceremony, officially welcoming its first cohort of students.
The event, which took place at the college’s premises in Akinyele, was marked by excitement and a strong commitment to academic excellence and professional training in the healthcare sector.
In his address, the Provost of the institution, Dr. Adeniyi Odedele, who served as the Chief Host, expressed immense joy at the realization of the institution’s vision. He praised the Governing Council for its dedication to establishing the college, noting that the matriculation symbolized the beginning of a transformative journey for the newly admitted students.
Dr. Odedele emphasized that the establishment of the college was driven by his passion for grassroots healthcare, recognizing it as a fundamental pillar for societal well-being.
“We believe in strengthening the healthcare system from the grassroots, ensuring that communities have well-trained professionals to cater to their needs. This institution is a step towards achieving that goal,” he stated.
Acknowledging the prevailing economic challenges, he assured parents and guardians that the college had designed an affordable tuition structure with flexible payment plans to ease financial burdens.
“We understand the economic realities, and we have tailored our tuition structure to be moderate while offering an installment-based payment option to support students and their families,” he added.
Dr. Odedele also reassured students of a high-quality learning experience, revealing that the college had assembled a team of seasoned professionals who would not only impart academic knowledge but also instill ethical values essential for the healthcare profession.
“Our faculty comprises dedicated professionals who will equip you with both technical expertise and strong moral foundations, which are crucial for success in this field,” he noted.
He urged students to remain disciplined, committed, and focused, while also calling on parents and sponsors to provide continuous support to the matriculants.
“As future health professionals, you will be instrumental in shaping the healthcare sector. This institution is committed to preparing you with the requisite knowledge, skills, and innovative mindset to improve health outcomes and save lives,” he encouraged.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Comrade Olumide Ayodeji commended the college’s leadership for its commitment to academic excellence and professional training. He described the matriculation ceremony as a historic achievement and urged students to strive for greatness.
“This institution is shaping your future. Beyond academic success, character and self-confidence will set you apart as professionals and leaders,” he advised.
Reaffirming Governor Makinde’s commitment to youth development, Comrade Ayodeji highlighted the administration’s ongoing efforts to empower young professionals across various sectors.
Encouraging students to uphold moral values and academic excellence, he urged them to contribute positively to the reputation of both the institution and Oyo State at large.
