Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has called on his team-mates to give Arsene Wenger the ‘perfect send-off’ by winning every single game from now until the end of the season.
Ramsey joined the top 10 goalscorers under Wenger at Arsenal after his goal against West Ham inspired victory in the Frenchman’s first game since announcing his intention to leave after 22 years in charge.
The Wales international, who will mark his 10-year anniversary at the club this summer, was effusive in his praise for Wenger on Sunday and wants to ensure he finishes his tenure on a positive note.
‘Hopefully we can finish off the season on a high for him,’ Ramsey told Sky Sports.
‘We are not thinking about who is coming in next, it is all about doing it for him now and hopefully we can win every single game and finish off with a cup. That would be the perfect send-off for him.
Wenger led his side to a 4-1 win over West Ham in the first game since his announcement
‘Because he deserves it, he deserves everything he gets, all the plaudits and all the recognition for all the great work he’s done over the years.
‘He’s believed in us, he’s backed us and given us all these opportunities over the years.
‘He brought me here as a 17-year-old and I owe him a lot.’
