Aaron Ramsey to leave Arsenal next summer as new-deal talks break down as Chelsea, Man utd and Juventus monitor the situation

EXCLUSIVE: Gunners are understood to have rejected £50m last summer for midfielder they now face losing for nothing.

Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Mirror Sport understands there is now NO new contract offer on the table.

And that means the Gunners stand to lose one of their best and most important players for FREE next summer.

Midfielder Ramsey had been ready to stay and commit himself to a new contract, with the club confident of reaching agreement with the past few weeks. But there has been a sudden change and talks have completely broken down — to the point that there is now nothing for the 27-year-old Wales international to sign.

It is an incredible situation as Ramsey is at the peak of his career, scored the winner in two of Arsenal’s three recent FA Cup Final wins and that there will be no shortage of takers.

The Gunners are understood to have turned down a £50million bid for him last summer, with Juventus having since joined a chase also including Chelsea, Manchester United and Lazio.

Ramsey has sacrificed himself this season, playing in different positions to help new boss Unai Emery’s tactics work, but his stats have remained impressive.

Emery admitted in August the former Cardiff whizkid had been to see him over his role in the team, but it is not known whether the Spaniard wants to keep him.

Arsenal’s wage bill has been escalating out of control with Mesut Ozil now on £350,000-a-week, but Ramsey has been keen to stay and this breakdown is not because he has turned down a new deal.

It will be a massive blow to lose one of Europe’s top goal-scoring midfielders on a free, and once again the north Londoners’ dealings in the market and over contracts will come under the spotlight.

They allowed both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to get into the final year of their deals, and now they face an even more embarrassing own goal over Ramsey.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has turned down offers from China, Japan and France because he is enjoying his new-found freedom after leaving the club last summer.

The 68-year-old, who left the Gunners at the end of last season after almost 22 years in charge, insists he is not retiring from football. But he has made it clear he is enjoying his break more than he expected to and is not in such a rush to get back in.
