Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi, member representing Surulere/Ogo Oluwa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly has said that the process and conduct of election into Local Governments and LCDAs in Oyo state was free, fair and credible.
The ex-council boss, Odebunmi who chairs Committee on Information, Ethics and National Orientation while speaking with journalists during the election in Oko on Saturday noted that even though the turnout was not impressive but the process was good
“The election into local governments is an election that requires involvement of everybody at the grassroot because it is the closet to the masses”, the lawmaker said.
He blamed mischief makers and politicians in the opposition for misinforming the public.
Odebunmi, however appealed to the elected council gaffers not to see their victories as an avenue to aggrandize wealth and destroy the platform that gave them the opportunity to serve but to serve with passion so as to contribute their own quota towards the development of these councils.
