Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, on Monday converged in Ogbomoso to mobilise party faithful in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders, who met under the banner of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Senator Teslim Folarin, unanimously endorsed President Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the party ahead of the polls.
The gathering, which took place at the Soun Ogunlola Hall, Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, was part of a broader mobilisation strategy by the party leadership, as stakeholders resolved to tour the seven geopolitical zones and 14 federal constituencies in the state to galvanise grassroots support for the President and the APC ahead of the next general elections.
Speakers at the open-air meeting stressed the need for unity and understanding among party leaders and members, noting that cohesion within the APC remained critical to the party’s success in future elections.
In his keynote address, Senator Folarin urged party members to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots, saying informed members must enlighten others on the quality of leadership being offered by President Tinubu.
According to him, the President is leaving no stone unturned to reposition Nigeria and guarantee prosperity, stability and peace for the citizenry.
“Our mission here today is basically to tell the whole world that we in Oyo State are ready to fully key into the Renewed Hope Agenda and showcase the spirit of love and togetherness prevailing in our great party at the moment,” Folarin said.
“At the appropriate time, we will move to the nooks and crannies of the state to mobilise voters for the 2027 general elections, as it is going to be a total victory for the APC.”
Speaking in the same vein, a former First Lady of Oyo State and Ambassador-designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, enjoined party members to promote unity and peace, describing the APC as the most formidable political party in the state.
She said the current atmosphere of peace within the party would be nurtured and sustained, as key stakeholders had agreed to work together for the re-election of President Tinubu and the return of the APC to Agodi Government House in 2027.
The highlight of the meeting was the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term in office and the formal reception of hundreds of defectors from other political parties into the APC.
The defectors were drawn from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere Local Government Areas of the state.
Stakeholders at the event included Pharm. Olayide Abas, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Chief Alake Adeyemo, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Senators Abdulfatai Buhari, Sarafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde and Ayoade Adeseun.
Others were Chief Sunday Dare, Senator Hosea Agboola, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Chief Akin Oke, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, Hon. Olamiju Alao-Akala, Dr Akin Onigbinde (SAN), Hon. Olagunju Ojo and Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, among others.
