‎The Chairman of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Segun Odebunmi, popularly known as Bunvic, on Tuesday launched the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) to mobilise grassroots support for the second-term bid of President Bola Tinubu.

Odebunmi, a former member of the House of Representatives unveiled the support group at an enlarged meeting of his loyalists in the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Iresapa, Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Addressing  the gathering,  the ex-lawmaker lauded Tinubu’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, stabilisation of the foreign exchange market, reduction in food prices, the introduction of the student loan scheme and ongoing security efforts across the country.

‎According to him, “President Tinubu has taken bold and necessary steps to reposition Nigeria’s economy. The removal of fuel subsidy and other tough decisions were taken in the overall interest of the nation. He deserves a second term to consolidate on these reforms.”

Odebunmi charged his supporters to embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation across polling units, wards and local governments to ensure what he described as a comfortable victory for the President and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

‎“We must go back to our various polling units and wards. Mobilise massively and ensure that the APC records overwhelming victories at all levels. The task ahead requires unity, dedication and commitment,” he said.

The former Chairman, House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Values and Ethics, also urged party members to be good ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda and cooperate with the leadership of the party ahead of the forthcoming congresses.

The highlight of the meeting was the defection of hundreds of members of the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC in the council area. The decampees, led by Olukunle Oloyede, said their decision to join the ruling party was informed by Odebunmi’s performance and leadership, assuring that they would mobilise more members into the APC fold.
