The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ibarapa East /Ido Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Engr. Aderemi Oseni has given reasons why he is contesting the federal Constituency seat in 2023.
Recalled that the clergy cum businessman had earlier sacrificed his senatorial ambition to represent Oyo south senatorial district in the interest of his party – the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing a crowd recently during his visit to Olorunsogo II Landlords &Landladies Association, Abanla, Omi-Adio, in Ido local government area, Oseni said he is contesting to end years of deficient representation and performance suffered by the federal constituency.
In a statement by his media office on Saturday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, the APC candidate specifically noted that negligence of the youths, lack of basic infrastructure, poor representation as well as the urgent need to better the lots of constituents are reasons for his decision to represent the people.
He said, “I am an apostle of the new type of politics dispensation that is prepared to liberate and free my people in Ibarapa East /Ido federal constituency from political oppressors who have destroyed the potential we have for development. I am contesting therefore to protect my constituents from the excesses of these oppressors pursuing selfish agendas, who have held our constituency captive for a long time.
“ I have toured both Ido and Ibarapa East Local Governments widely, and the stories are the same, indeed our representatives have not pulled their weight through developing the area. It is important to you now to take back power from self-driven political leaders who have limited the growth of the constituency. unfortunately, our people are impoverished and our reputations are besmirched due to poor representations.
It is high time to use the machinery of the legislature to better the lives of our people.
“My mission is not only to rebuild the federal constituency but rather to transform the nature of representation from its current medieval status. I have freely offered myself to lead the struggle for credible, purposeful and quality representation. And, in all these, I am inspired by the fear of God, the determination and readiness to serve and my abilities”, Oseni added.
Enumerating some of his positive contributions that have given a new lease of life to communities, groups and individuals in the federal constituency, Oseni, who sought votes for himself, however, called on his constituents to vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, it’s governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin and other candidates of the ruling party in the 2023 general election.
