Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal has declared his intention to run for the country’s presidency under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2023.
The former speaker’s declaration ended months of speculation about his presidential ambition.
Addressing newsmen shortly after meeting with State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Governor Tambuwal said he considered the State Chairmen as grassroot mobilisers.
He called for unity among party members ahead of the general elections, noting that the PDP remains the hope of Nigerians.
Tambuwal, however assured Nigerians that the PDP is ready to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
