2023 Presidency: Group seeks support for Tinubu

The South West Agenda (SWAGA ‘23) has urged Nigerians to support former Lagos state governor, Mr.Bola Tinubu  for the 2019 presidential bid.

The group, through its  Vice Chairman, Sen.  Adesoji Akanbi made the call recently in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.

According to the former Senator, “more than anyone else, the SWAGA ‘23 movement know that we cannot do it alone. We shall need the support of other Nigerians also to successfully advocate for this rare noble cause who is an inspiration to many, a bridge builder, a leader who combines political acumen, strategic vision and moral principles’.

Akanbi, who expressed gratitude to all delegates and stakeholders present at the inaugural programme of the group, also thanked His Royal Majesties, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III and Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oba Saliu Adetunji for the gracious warm welcome they gave to the delegates at their respective royal residences.

As the Vice Chairman of the SWAGA ‘23, he described the warm reception by the monarchs as a memorable event, adding that as the Chief host of the inaugural programme in Ibadan, it was indeed a great honour for him.

“I want to thank all those who put in the work to ensure a successful and memorable programme. With over 200 delegates from the six states in South Western Nigeria in attendance, I must say it is indeed a testament to the belief these political stalwarts have in the noble cause we are committed to. It was indeed a day of superb display of passion an action and of course gratitude to Almighty who made the day possible and the programme a success.

“I thank each and every delegate for gracing the programme and for their total dedication and commitment to a worthy and noble cause.

“The inauguration of SWAGA ‘23 is the culmination of the strong belief of men and women of the Yoruba race and the crescendo of their pledge to see Nigeria get to her promised land via a passionate visionary who would take the needed actions in leadership with the understanding of the demands of a changing world.

He continued, “Once again, my heartfelt appreciation goes to everyone for the success of the inauguration programme, for making it down to Ibadan from the various states in the South West and North West Geopolitical zones, I cannot thank you enough. May we all live to witness the great Nigeria we all clamour for”.
