Warring factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state – the Unity Forum and the Ajimobi Legacy Forum on Wednesday resolved their differences and reunited.
The factions, who met during a reunion meeting held at the Premier Hotel, Ibadan, also agreed to bury their differences and resolved to work together towards strengthening the party for the 2023 elections.
At the meeting were; Adeolu Akande, Moses Alake Adeyemo, Abu Gbadamosi, Abdulwasiu Ajimobi, Fatai Ibikunle, Ayo Adeseun, Bayo Shittu, Abass Aleshinloye, ‘Lekan Adeyemo, Olufemi Lanlehin among others.
Contained in a communique, jointly signed by the leaders of the groups at the end of an expanded meeting, all members are directed to collapse their meetings into one at state, local and ward levels; urging them to be ready for the battle to unseat the Seyi Makinde – led PDP government in 2023.
The communique was signed by the Chairman of the groups, Chief Kunle Sanda; Co-Chairman, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi Co-Chairman; Prof Adeolu Akande and Hon. Gbenga Ariba.
It was reliably gathered that Chief Sanda and Hon. Ariba were nominated from the Ajimobi Legacy Forum, while Chief Abu and Prof. Adeolu represented the Unity Forum.
Commending the efforts of former Oyo state first lady, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi to the settlement of the differences between the two groups, they further affirmed their continued loyalty and support for President Muhammadu Buhari and his government.
The groups, however urged all Nigerians to pray for the country in these trying times, as they resolved to sustain the enduring legacies of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Bola Ige, Alhaji Lam Adeshina and Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
