THE aspiration of Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela on Saturday received a boost as group gave unflinching support to run for Federal House of Representatives membership.
The group under the aegis of Nigeria Association of Hunters in Ibarapa East Local Government informed that the decision to endorse Olowofela was reached after examining the antecedence of those in the race so far, adding that his antecedence speaks volume among them.
The group comprises of youths, elders and women from various communities in the area also openly declared their total support for the commissioner’s House of Representatives ambition, describing him as a tested and trusted leader with all necessary requisites to occupy the seat as member representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal constituency at the National Assembly.
While calling on all to queue behind the House of Representatives hopeful, Chief Samina Aderoju Atofiojomo who spoke on behalf of the group further averred that it was the turn of Ido Local Government to produce the House member to represent the federal constituency.
Also, some executives of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC across the ten wards of Ibarapa East Local Government who converged in Eruwa noted that the political turn-taking between the two councils irrespective of any political affiliation as a tradition has the capacity for maintaining peaceful political order.
“At the heart of tradition, the principles of trust, respect for fairness, equity, and justice as well as ensuring balancing of power are critical points that must not be overlooked. Our council has spent twelve (12) years on this seat; we need to observe the zoning arrangement”.
Thanking the executives and other stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, the former council boss, Olowofela explained that he came to “consult and seek their supports” on his ambition.
He, however added that he can not make any move in that direction without the leaders’ input.
