A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Engr Raufu Olaniyan on Tuesday hinted that the party had perfected plans to capture the state in 2019, just as he reaffirmed that he is still very much a member of the ADC

Olaniyan stated this while addressing journalists at an event to mark the new Islamic calendar Hijra 1440 organised by the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations ( NACOMYO), at the Lekan Salami sports complex Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The guber hopeful, Olaniyan also noted that the Africa Democratic Congress, (ADC) is a party that he has helped built and there is absolutely no reason why he should leave the party at this point in time. He further observed that one can not expect a party in the mould of ADC not to have some teething problems at the onset, but with the kind of excellent leadership the party is blessed with such issues will be resolved amicably to the satisfaction of all.

The ex- Permanent Secretary in the Oyo state public service urged members of the public to disregard rumors making rounds that he has left the party, stressing that there was never a time he contemplated exiting the Africa Democratic Congress, (ADC). He said the rumor was most likely been peddled by enemies of the party.

The Igboho born politician assured his numerous supporters that he continues to be a member of the ADC, restating his commitment to seek the party’s ticket to contest as governor of Oyo state in 2019.

In his Hijra message to Muslims, the ADC chieftain advised that love should be given priority among the Islamic community and to ensure that they continue to abide by the dictates of the holy Quran as taught by prophet Muhammad.

He also expressed his appreciation to NACOMYO for hosting a beautiful event and hoped that they continue in that light, while assuring them of his consistent support.
