SENATOR Babajide Omoworare, representing Osun East Senatorial District, last Wednesday joined other 28 aspirants eyeing the Abere Government House in Osun state.
Omoworare, who led thousands of his supporters visited the APC Secretariat, in Osogbo, the Osun state capital to formally inform the party of his intention to run for the apex seat in the state.
The lawmaker also highlighted some of his programmes and policies to take the state to the next level.
Omoworare who boasted that he possessed everything required to govern the state, reechoed that he stands tall among the aspirants.
He further promised to give priority to security, health and education if elected.
He noted that all requirements in terms of education and exposure, have made him the best choice to get the party’s ticket.
He promised to make judicious use of the available resources in the state to govern with less dependence on the federal allocation.
The two term Senator also said he would increase the Internal Revenue without inflicting hardships on the citizenry.
“Osun Osogbo festival, Olojo of Ife and Iwude-Ijesa of Ilesa, would be planned to attract investors in the tourism sector”.
The governorship hopeful who further emphasised the place of quality infrastructural foundation for development of the state said, “We must appreciate infrastructural foundation laid by the outgoing administration, we must improve on it and maximise same to grow the economy.
“Small and medium scale enterprises, cottage industries, technological hubs, farm settlements and a host of other initiatives to create employment, wealth and economic prosperity for the people will be given priority.
“I am equipped with requisite education, experience and exposure to lead the state to greater heights for the benefit of all and sundry.
“I am a bona-fide and loyal member of this party, I have been a consistent progressive politician with commitment and dedication to the progressive tradition of our party. I am educated, experienced and exposed to global trend of good governance and this shall be fully deployed to run the state. Omoworare continued.
Remarking, the state party chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun described Omoworare as a humble, cerebral, dedicated and loyal party man.
Famodun said, “Omoworare has been a quality representative, his impacts are seen, he has been dedicated to the progressive ideals of the party and eminently qualified to run. I wish him well in this endeavour”
