2018: Ajimobi’s wife receives twins, 2 others as babies of the year

Wife of the Oyo state governor, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi on Monday welcomed three babies who were born on January 1st, 2018 in Ibadan, the state capital as part of activities marking the beginning of a new year.

The babies are from families of Gbadamosi, Akeem and Adenike. Akeem’s family gave birth to twins (boys) at Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Yemetu. One was delivered 11:30pm December 31,2017 through safe delivery while the other baby was delivered by Caesarian procedure at 1:30am January 1, 2018.

Also, others are from Adegoke family, a baby boy also in Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan at 5am on Monday and Gbadamosi family who gave birth to a baby girl in Jericho Special Hospital, Ibadan at 2:48am. Mrs Ajimobi distributed gift items and cash for these babies.

Interacting with newsmen in their separate appreciations, the mothers of the children thanked the first family in the state for their kind gestures and also prayed for them.

The wife of the governor, Mrs. Ajimobi who was represented by the state commissioner for Women Affairs, Community Development Social Welfare And Poverty alleviation, Mrs. Atinuke Osunkoya urged the mothers on need to take good care of their children.

“On behalf of Oyo State Governor’s wife, I thank everyone and I say 2018 will be a prosperous year. I pray it shall be well with these children and I urge the women in the state to continue taking good care of their children because they are the future of the state and the country at large”, said Osunkoya.

In a related development, the governor’s wife representative also  visited maternity and children wards to felicitate with new born babies and children where gift items were also presented to them. The Commissioner and her entourage further visited Oni Memorial Children Hospital in Ring Road to pay visit to babies and children and distributed gifts to them.
