In a significant development, the Lagos State Police Command has pinpointed Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, as the primary suspect in the tragic demise of Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Aloba, at the age of 27 on September 12.

The artist’s passing has sparked controversy, with old videos resurfacing, depicting allegations of bullying and physical assault.

“Five suspects have so far been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated on their alleged roles in the sequence of events that led to the death of the singer,” the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, in a press briefing on Friday.

Police Commissioner Owohunwa revealed that Ms. Ogedengbe administered a combination of “multiple and highly potent” injections, including Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone, at Mohbad’s residence on the fateful day.

These injections triggered severe reactions, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions. It was noted that Ms. Ogedengbe lacked the qualifications to perform nursing duties in a non-clinical setting, displaying professional negligence.

Another suspect, Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni, known as Primeboy, was identified as a childhood friend of Mohbad.

He attended a show with the late singer on September 10, which culminated in a physical altercation resulting in Mohbad’s injury.

“The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death,” Owohunwa said.

Also, Sam Larry, whose real name is Samson Balogun, was arrested and remains in detention due to his alleged complicity in Mohbad’s death and his involvement in viral videos where the deceased spoke about bullying and assault.

Abdul-Aziz Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, was also apprehended and is currently in detention facing similar allegations.

The police commissioner further revealed that an exhumation of Mohbad’s remains, as well as an autopsy and toxicology test, were conducted on September 21.

The results of these examinations are currently pending, shedding more light on the circumstances surrounding the untimely passing of the Afrobeats star.
