The UK- based Afro-fusion singer took to his verified Instagram account, @seandampte, to hint his fans about the project; a development which ignited the curiosity of many of his fans who have since been disturbing the internet with different anticipatory tags and headlines.

The project, entitled ‘Awoodah Rising- Man Like Sean Dampte’, according to Sean Dampte, which would be released on August 21, 2020, is a six-track EP that tends to unleash the ‘good’ of the said act.

Marcelina, the second track off the EP debuted number 8 on the Black Music Charts a couple of weeks ago, and on its current run of four weeks. Another single, according to the Afrobeat Superstar, which would enjoy massive attention, is ‘Money On My Mind Always – MOMMA’.

“MOMMA is about my journey as an artist. Many artists get caught up in fame and forget what is most important- family. The track talks about my motivation being family. It also speaks about my journey and lay to claim the reputation as one of the pioneers of the Afro-fusion culture,” he said.

Asked what inspired then nomenclature Awoodah, as it reflects in the EP title, and why he felt it was so necessary to release the project at this time, he has this to say: “When I returned to music, I hear people say “Who is that?” and so that inspired me to coin the word Awoodah. And I think it’s time I let people into my world.”

He also opened up on his relationship with the UK-based promoter, Rebecca Junaid, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Justjojo Entertainment. Junaid has worked with several notable Nigerian acts such as Yemi Alade, Selebobo, Tekno, among others.

According to Sean Dampte, ‘Justjojo will be responsible for the global distribution of the EP to the right audience.’

Meanwhile, the tracklist of the EP includes Adura, Money On My Mind Always, Pe’Pe Ft Buju, Marcelina (Remastered), Nkechi Freak Like Me and O’Por.

Olowofela, who has already procured the nomination form from the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, tendered his resignation letter on Monday morning to pursue his Federal House of Representatives ambition (Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency).

He posted the information on his facebook page ‘ Professor Adeniyi Olowofela quoting his resignation letter which was earlier dispatched to the State Executive Governor.

Olowofela said: “Sometimes the process is painful and hard, but don’t forget that when God is silent, HE is doing something great for you.

“Today, I tendered my resignation letter this morning to pursue my Federal House of Representatives ambition (Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency).

“I resigned following my resolution to contest the Federal House of Representatives seat having obtained the APC nomination form.

“My dear boss, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, I am grateful for finding me worthy to be appointed Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Oyo state since June 17, 2016 out of many eminently qualified Oyo State citizens.

“Your Excellency sir, I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve and I need to reiterate that I learnt a lot about leadership, management and courage working closely with you. I am equally grateful to Almighty God that I am part of the success story of this administration due to opportunities given to me.

“There is one thing in life, you can either perish with the storm or you soar like an eagle with the storm. Once again, I am grateful to the government of Oyo state, especially the governor, his family, my party – the All Progressives Congress (APC) and members of the cabinet for the camaraderie and the bond that exist among us.

“I need to state that nobody has compelled me to leave, however, there is a policy that if you want to contest; resign, so that you will not be distracted

“I therefore expressed my appreciation for allowing me to serve my fatherland meritoriously. Sir, I am looking forward to your usual support as I step forward for next move. I am looking forward to more useful collaborative effort with His Excellency in the future to lift our dear state and Nigeria to greater heights.

“Thank you all for your support and prayers.”

Oloyede was announced in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday by Akinbade.

Oloyede had in 2015 written a letter to the Osun State House of Assembly and criticised Governor Rauf Aregbesola for not paying workers’ salaries, pensions and for his alleged failure to discharge some of his constitutional duties.

Oloyede was eased out of the bench following her eventual recommendation for a compulsory retirement by the National Judicial Council over the petition.

The statement read, ” The African Democratic Congress has picked a retired judge of the Osun State Judiciary, Justice Folahanmi Olamide Oloyede, as the running mate to Alhaji Fatai Akinbade in the coming governorship election.

“Oloyede is seen in many quarters as a courageous and incorruptible individual whose candidature will go along in making the people have trust in her combination with Akinbade.”

The 52-year-old retired judge, who is from Ilesa East Local Government had led protests against the administration of Aregbesola for nonpayment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities.

Oloyede had after her exit from the judiciary lectured at Base University, Abuja and Leads City University, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Akinbade, a former Secretary to the State Government, who had two weeks ago left the Peoples Democratic Party for his new party promised to transform the state to an industrial hub if given the mandate.
