<p>The commissioning ceremony, held at the institution’s Ibadan Study Centre, drew stakeholders, alumni members, and dignitaries who gathered to witness the unveiling of the facility described as a legacy project for the association.</p>

<p>Speaking during the ceremony, the Chairman of the Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Salawu Akeem, expressed appreciation to members and supporters for their commitment to the successful execution of the project. He described the secretariat as a major milestone that would enhance administrative capacity and strengthen cohesion among alumni members across the state.</p>

<p>The Centre Director, Ibadan Study Centre, Prof. Justus Sokefun, attended the event alongside Mrs Samuel Titi, the Deputy Bursar of the centre, the Secretary of the chapter, Prince Dada Olumide; the National Legal Adviser, Comrade Yinka Quadri; and other stakeholders.</p>

<p>Delivering his goodwill message, Prof. Sokefun lauded the chapter for its foresight and dedication, noting that the secretariat represented a significant step toward strengthening alumni engagement and institutional development.</p>
<p>He said, “This project is commendable and worthy of emulation by other chapters nationwide, as it will further consolidate the relationship between the university and its graduates.”</p>

<p>Also speaking, Alhaji Bashiru Adisa, the Baale of Kiabi, in Ido local government area of Oyo state, who represented the Board of Trustees and stood in for the National Vice President, South-West, praised the leadership and members of the chapter for their resilience and collective effort in completing the project, urging them to maintain and effectively utilise the facility.</p>

<p dir="ltr">A university student named Blessing Karami, who had been reported missing on September 11, was tragically discovered deceased, according to statements by police authorities on Thursday.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The 26-year-old Blessing, a student at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), was declared missing after leaving her workplace in Garki, Abuja.</p>
<p dir="ltr">In a press release, Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed that her disappearance had been reported to the police on Thursday, September 14.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“The body of Blessing Karami Moses, a 26-year-old woman who had been missing since September 11, 2023, was tragically discovered in a wooded area in Karimo. Her disappearance was reported to the authorities on September 14, 2023,” the statement read.</p>

<p dir="ltr">The Commissioner of Police, FCT, Haruna Garba, has also assured that the Command will “conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding Blessing Karami Moses’ untimely death”.</p>

<p dir="ltr">“While we are working closely with the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) to facilitate the respectful retrieval of the decomposed remains acknowledging the sensitive nature of this task, we will continue to provide updates to the public as our investigation progresses,” she added.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Superintendent of Police Adeh also expressed condolences to Blessing&#8217;s family and loved ones in light of this distressing incident.</p>
