Ademola, who contested the election under the platform of  the PDP confided in his loyalists shortly after his victory, saying “I will contest the governorship election next year, to fulfil my late brother’s dream”, sources disclosed.

Political analysts, however posited that, with the recent political tsunami in the state, if the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to do the needful as expected, Adeleke will win convincingly. They added that he won the election with landslide victory because Ede people stood by the family.

The analysts further advised him to settle the Omisore faction with the deputy governor’s slot ,while assuring that Osun West Senatorial District will vote en masse for Adeleke.

Interestingly, they jointly disclosed that the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is about making a costly mistake, as his preferences are from Osun Central, while the West are seriously agitating.

It would be recalled that his elder brother, the late lawmaker, Isiaka Adeleke, who was the first executive Governor of Osun State, and Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, before his death, was also eyeing the governorship seat in the state and had visited places for consultation ahead of 2018 elections.

His tragic exit in Osun politics has created suspicion in the polity and alters political calculations especially as 2018 approaches. Political analysts believe that Senator Adeleke has laid a good foundation and has an excellent chance to succeed Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the incumbent governor, which they claimed his brother, Ademola enjoyed during the bye election.

The family, however rejected the coroner inquest alleging that the result was already predetermined by the Osun state government.

Addressing journalists in Ede, the country home of the deceased, his immediate younger brother, Dr Deji Adeleke challenged the state government to explain to the people why it is in her hurry to order the inquest when the report of autopsy ordered by the Adeleke Family is yet to be delivered.

Adeleke stressed, “the family has resolved not to participate nor cooperate with the panel which was clearly set up to establish it’s own self serving facts”.

He, therefore warned the medical team conducting the autopsy not to release the result to anyone except the family to avoid sanctions of the law.

Adeleke further condemned the continued politicization of the death of the late lawmaker, while urging the people of the state to disapprove the inquest into their brother’s death.

Mr. Alfred Aderibigbe, a graduate of the school of hygiene technology turned Health Assistant that treated the Senator two hours before he succumbed to the cold hands of death has made useful confession which was contained in the statement he made to the police 1regarding the nature of the injection he administered on the senator shortly before he gave up the ghost, highly impeccable family sources told our reporter.

Alfred, who is a long standing caregiver to the late Adeleke for over 10 years disclosed that the lawmaker had both peripheral artery disease and deep vein thrombosis because, according to him, the senator was hypertensive and diabetic at the same time.

“He suffers serious pain on his left leg. As such he uses a USA imported drug called ‘Pentoxifyline’ frequently. And when it escalates, he uses this medication with other analgesics intravenously or orally”.

Mr. Alfred further disclosed, “but, because of his schedule in Ede, he forgot the drug in his Ikeja home in Lagos. Before he left home in the morning for the Saturday’s engagement, he complained of light pain on the leg which was not given the attention it deserved”, the health assistant narrated.

He continued, “oral tablets of 200mg Diclofenac, 30mg of Pentazocine injection, 60mg of Diazepam tablets, 200mg of Hydrocortisone and 500mg of Analgin inside Dextrose Saline were given to him”.

Another source who confided in Mega Icon Magazine revealed that the late Osun political idol, Sen. Adeleke, attended a burial ceremony in Kuta, two political meetings and another party before he retired home on Saturday. He was said to have had series of meetings till 2am, but was complaining of the pains in the leg to close associates all through the meetings.

The source further disclosed that by 5am, he sent for Alfred Aderibigbe who stay five houses away from the Senator Adeleke’s residence. According to this source, “he saw that he had missed 18 calls from the senator’s mobile number who upon reaching him asked him to come with pain relieving tablets or injection as he couldn’t lift his legs again.

According to the information made available to our reporter and which had been confirmed to be true, Alfred is an health worker in one of the Primary Health Centres in Ede, Osun state.

The source further added that being a socialite, the Senator drank few glass cups of strong liquor on Saturday night.

The source also hinted that the health assistant left after the last drop of the dextrose saline had been administered on him after which the pain was subsided but it was not long after when the lawmaker’s breathing suddenly changed around 6:50am.

“He was struggling to inhale or exhale oxygen. There after he was rushed to Bikets Hospital, Osogbo but the hospital declared him brought in dead (BID)”, he concluded.

However, Mega Icon Magazine reliably learnt that upon learning the critical condition which Senator Adeleke was, Mrs Modupe Sanni nee Adeleke, the third child of the family, who equally is a nurse, had sent for Mr. Alfred and demanded to see the drug he administered on his brother, afterwhich she immediately alerted the police to arrest Alfred, not knowing that her brother, Sen. Adeleke, had given up the ghost.

“Mrs Sanni was the first person to hand over Alfred to the police before other family members started probing the Senator Adeleke’s death, the source revealed.

As at the time of filling this report, the police are still continuing their investigation.

The statement reads further, ” instructively, I served as a governing council member in Adeleke University where the deceased was a Chancellor, He was indeed a pragmatic lover and genuine embodiment of sound education towards self reliability and liberation, his leadership qualities as a former Pro Chancellor of University of Calabar is a testament to his brave commitment and devotion to education. Though departed yet he will remain alive in our hearts and minds forever as a great man who displayed uncommon affection to the plight of humanity”.

“In this difficult  time of mourning, I equally extend my heartfelt sympathy to the government, people and APC family of the state of Osun on this repressive and unfortunate loss of one of our strong pillar of grassroots mobilization, my deepest thoughts and prayers are with the immediate and extended family members, the Timi of Ede in Council, the 8th Senate, state executives and members of Osun APC and loving people of Ede community. May Allah grant us all the fortitude to bear his loss and guide him on his journey to his creator”, its continued.

The lawmaker said tourism is a viable sector through which the economy of the country can be revived, demanding individuals to encourage local tourism instead of expending huge resources on foreign ones.

The former governor of Osun State further explained that tourism has huge potentials which have not been fully utilized, noting that some countries in the world have sustained their economy through their investment in the tourism sector which has yielded fruitful results.

Senator Adeleke, during a visit to Tinapa Resort in Calabar disclosed that there are so many tourist sites within the country which were not being utilized, stating that the said tourist centres just lie fallow in their various locations.

“It is good that we are diversifying our economy to meet the various challenges we are facing as a country. One of the key sectors we should not neglect is tourism. It is a viable sector if properly tapped and harnessed.

“Some African countries rely on their tourism potentials to boost their economy.  People throughout the world spend huge sums of money on tourism because tourism is part of our day to day activities. If we encourage local tourism, it will help with the development of our local content.

“I believe the federal government and some state governments are already working assiduously to tap into the huge tourism potentials. However, I will like to charge them to make our tourist sites more attractive.  Tourism is money-spinning and Nigeria should not be left out of the opportunity it provides. Nigerians should also patronize our tourist sites instead of expending on foreign ones,” the Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market, Adeleke added.
