Beelolari was elected during the party’s local government congress held last Saturday, where new executives were elected across Oyo State.

In a statement made available to journalists on Monday, Ramon described Beelolari’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by party members at the grassroots.

He said the outcome of the congress signified a renewed commitment by party faithful to reposition the APC for greater electoral success in Ibarapa East and the state at large.

According to him, the peaceful conduct of the exercise demonstrated the unity and internal democracy within the party in the local government.

“I congratulate Mr. Oludele Beelolari on his well-deserved victory at the local government congress. His emergence is a testament to his loyalty, dedication and the trust members of our great party have in his leadership capacity,” Ramon said.

The assembly hopeful urged the newly elected executives to prioritise inclusiveness, reconciliation, and effective grassroots mobilisation to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of future elections.

He also called on other aspirants and party stakeholders to close ranks and work collectively with the new leadership in the interest of unity and progress.

Ramon reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the APC, stressing that sustained cooperation and strategic coordination remained critical to consolidating the party’s influence in Ibarapa East.

He expressed optimism that under Beelolari’s stewardship, the APC would witness renewed vibrancy and organisational strength in the local government.

‎Ramon, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the spiritual significance of the twin observances should inspire leaders and residents alike to recommit themselves to the collective progress of Ibarapa East.

‎In a statement issued on Thursday, the Lanlate-born engineer described Ramadan and Lent as periods of sacrifice, reflection and renewed dedication to service, stressing that the values embedded in both seasons must translate into tangible development for the people.

‎“Ibarapa East cannot afford to remain on the sidelines of growth. Development of our constituency is non-negotiable,” Ramon said.

‎ “This sacred season reminds us that leadership is about sacrifice, accountability and genuine concern for the welfare of the people.”

He noted that communities across Eruwa, Lanlate and adjoining areas require deliberate legislative attention, strategic empowerment programmes and improved infrastructure to unlock their full potential.

Ramon urged Muslims observing Ramadan and Christians in the Lenten season to pray for peace, unity and prosperity in Ibarapa East, adding that spiritual discipline should foster stronger communal bonds across political and religious lines.

He further assured party faithful and constituents that his aspiration is anchored on purposeful representation, effective lawmaking and robust oversight that will attract meaningful projects to the constituency.

“As we fast and pray, let us also reflect on the future we desire for Ibarapa East. Together, with unity of purpose and visionary leadership, we can reposition our constituency for sustainable development,” he added.

It was a day of joy and jubilation in Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo state as the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) declared the All Progressive Congress ( APC) candidate for the constituency, Engr. Remi Oseni winner of the House of Representatives election.

Hundreds of party loyalists, and well wishers who kept vigil at the INEC office , venue of result collation include opinion leaders, activists, traditional rulers and party supporters irrespective of political and religious leanings.

The APC candidate, a renowned structural engineer and clergy
won the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal constituency election by a total vote of 26,285 to his closest rival, the incumbent, Hon. Yemi Taiwo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 10,988 votes.

The Accord Party candidate (AP), Hon. Wahab Oladejo Alao comfortably came distance third with a total vote of 3,980.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Media, and Publicity, Remi Oseni Campaign Council (ROCC), Idowu Ayodele, on Monday, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital and made available to journalists, the result was announced by Professor Dayo Akintayo of the Osun State University at the INEC office, Ido local government, the Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency Collation Centre on Sunday.

The Ibadan-born businessman , Oseni, who had won all the ten wards in his Ido Local Government conveniently, in a like manner, also recorded a landslide victory in all the ten wards in Ibarapa East Local Government, including Lanlate and Eruwa towns respectively.

The winning votes of 26,285 for Oseni with a difference of 15,285 votes marked an overwhelming and unprecedented victory in the history of the federal constituency.

Expressing satisfaction with the outcome of the election in his favour, Oseni thanked God and the constituents for the overwhelming confidence and trust they reposed in him through their votes.

The APC chieftain further noted that having transverse the nooks and crannies of Ibarapa East and Ido local governments, he knows where the shoe pinches them, reassuring them of his readiness to give effective, quality, and purposeful representation ever experienced before in the federal constituency.

Also, in the statement, Oseni dedicated the victory to God and the resolve of the good people of Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency to enthrone a new order, pledging to be a representative of all.

“It is indeed, a new dawn. I dedicate this victory to God Almighty, the good people of Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency, and pledge to be a representative of all.

“I want to assure you that having gone around the 20 wards in the federal constituency, I am aware of the developmental challenges facing the depressed constituents in the area of infrastructure, education, energy, healthcare, commerce, agriculture, and unemployment, among others. Even before the poll, I have started addressing some of these challenges and I promise to continue in similar patterns in the days, weeks, and months ahead. By the grace of Almighty God, I will not disappoint you”, he added.

The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin has called on security agencies to as a matter of urgency unravel those behind Eruwa shooting , describing the development as condemnable, unfortunate, unwarranted and sad.

Reacting to the death of two people in Eruwa on Saturday during the Local Government election, Ogundoyin condoled with the families of the victims and the entire people of Eruwa on the sad occurrence.

According to the lawmaker, it is completely wrong for any security agent to open fire on the people no matter the level of provocation.

” I sent my condolences to the entire people of Eruwa and the families of the bereaved in particular. This is grievous and really tormenting. There’s , however the urgent need for the Nigeria Police to commence full investigation into the events that led to the death of the two persons , and their findings should be made public pretty soon.

“Eye witness accounts said that Customs officials shot sporadically to disperse a group of supporters who barricaded the road , and who were demanding that their candidate be declared the winner. There’s no justification for officials of NCS or any other security agents to shoot and kill people in such a situation. The action of the officers is condemnable and reprehensible, and anyone found culpable in the course of investigation should be brought to Justice”, the Speaker said.

Speaking further, he described as untrue the rumor making the rounds that he sponsored political thugs to attack his own people, adding that the malicious and misleading information was orchestrated by disgruntled political foes who believe politics is a do or die affair.

Ogundoyin maintained that he will never hurt, maim or shed any blood for any political gain.

“Why would I import political thugs for local government election? This is unthinkable. That’s another propaganda and cheap political lie. I have won two elections against incumbent and ruling political party in Oyo State. I didn’t use political thugs against my people. They gave me their mandate freely, and on trust. Why would someone think I will start using political thugs now or disrupt voting process when myself and the PDP government in Oyo state are enjoying the support of my people. Let me reiterate that we will continue to stay connected with our people.

“At this point, it is also necessary for me to urge OYSIEC to investigate allegations of ballot box snatching and stuffing if any in Eruwa to ensure that the election is not only credible but also acceptable”, he added.

The Speaker’s statement is coming on the heels of some comments accusing him of non-performance, planned imposition of candidate for local government election, and alleged undue influence and dominance on him by his mother, Yeye Tina Ogundoyin.

Ogundoyin described the comments and allegations as totally untrue, just as he urged the faceless group sponsoring such malicious news to at least consider and judge him by his political activities , accomplisments and vision for the good people of Oyo State and his entire constituents.

The Speaker added that rather than coming up with and suggesting ways of moving Ibarapaland and indeed Oyo State forward, the masterminds of the misleading allegations were hell bent on scoring cheap political points through peddling of false information aimed at casting aspersions on his person, discrediting and blackmailing his political status and dragging the name of his mother in the mud.

“For the umpteenth time, I don’t have any preferred aspirant out of all the five qualified persons jostling to emerge as the PDP candidate for the forthcoming Local Government election in Ibarapa East. I also wish to appeal to the group and its sponsors to leave my mother out of their dirty politicking as Yeye ,who is the Mother to all in Ibarapaland will not impose nor influence the choice of candidate for the LG election. This is democracy and the wish of the people must prevail. My mum is not involved in anything in the Local Government. She has always been reminding me of my election campaign promises to my people and the need to fulfill them. Mum is an advocate of good governance and will not compromise on this,” he said.

According to the Speaker, because of his love and vision for education, he paid WAEC and NECO fees for hundreds of students in his constituency while another fifty benefitted from free JAMB forms , not to mention a modern and functional hospital he built in Lagaye and a place of worship requested for by the people of Oloro village.

“I have two School projects about to be completed, a block of 8 Classrooms at Temidire and another block of 6 Classrooms at Ojonamo in Lanlate . The two will be commissioned during my second year in office in May this year. As I speak, there is an ongoing construction of ten boreholes across all the wards in my Constituency while I am equally set to distribute hundreds of Motorcycles, Refrigerators, Generating Sets and others amongst my constituents. This is part of the empowerment program meant to mark my two years in office. This is not to mention my effort on the present status of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa and the facilitation of the accreditation of new courses for the Institution. ”

“Some of my Constituents have also enjoyed some employment opportunities and recommendations for appointment and other assistance through my good office. It is also noteworthy for me to mention my singular effort in the choice of Eruwa Farm Settlement by Governor Seyi Makinde for the 7.6billion naira Agricultural loan meant to develop two farm settlements into farm estates in Oyo State”

While commenting on the activities of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly under his watch, the Speaker said that it was unprecedented that less than two years , the House had passed about sixty laws, had one hundred and forty-two resolutions and eighty-two Motions as against seventy-four laws passed by the 8th Assembly in four years.

He added that this is aside from the oversight functions of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly which had helped in engendering good governance, complimenting the efforts of all arms of Government and enhancing the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo State.

“I am happy that the House of Assembly I preside over has achieved quite a lot in less than two years in office. Of note is the passage of the Open Rearing and Grazing (Prohibition) law, Oyo State security Network (Amotekun) Law, Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law.

Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency Law, Oyo State Investment & Public Private Partnership Agency Law, Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency Law, Lautech Amendment Law, Local Government (Pension) Fund Law, Tourism & Hospitality law and Child Sexual Offences Law just to mention but few. We are ready to do more as my vision is to set more records for the Oyo State House of Assembly as well as make lasting impacts in my Constituency and Ibarapaland as a whole. ” Hon Ogundoyin stated

He again appealed to the faceless group and its cohorts to invest their energy and resources on more productive ventures and activities and desist from spreading baseless information him and his family.

The socio-political group under the aegis of Ibarapa Youths Vanguard in a statement signed by its General Secretary, Ogunjimi Sunday noted that the 9th assembly has recorded enviable legislative successes under the leadership of the 33year old Ogundoyin.

Ogundoyin is the State lawmaker representing Ibarapa East Local Government and son of the late philanthropist, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin.

He was unanimously voted in by other 31 State lawmakers on the 10th of June, 2019, which made him the youngest Speaker in the history of the State and of course Nigeria.

According to the statement, passing a vote of confidence on the Speaker for leading a crisis free assembly in a politically vibrant State like Oyo is absolutely in order.

“We are proud of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly under the leadership of our own brother Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin. The assembly within a year passed to Establish Investment Promotion Agency, Anti-open grazing Law, anti-corruption agency, Establish Agribusiness Development Agency, the Amotekun law, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Amendment bill and so on.

“These are laws focusing on protecting the people of Oyo State and also improving their lives by providing enabling environment for investment to drive investors and eventually transforming the economy fortune of the State.

“While appreciating the support the lawmakers are giving both the Speaker and our Governor, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, we call for more cooperation especially on the issue of security in the State.

Adesokan, who was an aspirant of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ibarapa East local government,expressed worry that no member of the party from the local government made the list of appointments recently made by the governor. He urged Governor Makinde to spread his appointments and the benefit of his governance to all nook and crannies of the state without sidelining any party.

Adesokan,  who is also the first Vice Chairman of the National Institute of Town Planners, in the state made this call on Thursday at the sideline of the 50th Edition of the institute conference in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital

He noted further that  members of the African Democratic Congress in the Ibarapa East local government have not been considered for any substantial position in respect to the share ratio for the political coalition between the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) African Democratic Congress (ADC)/and two other parties in the 2019 general election.

“For now, we have not really seen the benefit of the political party coalition in our constituency, but since the offices are not fully occupied yet, other things can still come in, which we believe our leaders are really working on.

“Ibarapa East deserves more than what we have on ground, and we are expecting more, probably at the forthcoming local government election In Oyo state, we believe our governor is a man of his word, and will fulfill all his promises”. he said.

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) formed a coalition agreement with the African Democratic Congress,(ADC), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 gubernatorial election in the state.

He advised the lawmaker representing Ibarapa East state constituency who doubles as the speaker of the House,  Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin to meet and identify with other aspirants in the constituency to share ideas on ways to develop the zone.

The Lanlate born politician, Adesokan, was one of the ten aspirants that stepped down in a consensus agreement with Hon. Mark Olumuyiwa who later contested to represent the Ibarapa East state constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly but lost  to the current Speaker of the House.

The lawmakers  are of the opinion  that there is a need for Governor Makinde to spread the scope and usage of the agricultural loan to other zones in the state and not limit it to Akufo and Eruwa farm settlements alone.

The governor, had in a letter sent to the State House of Assembly urged the lawmakers to allow him access Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) loan to develop Akufo and Eruwa farm settlements into farm estates.

The letter, which was presented on the floor  of the assembly during Thursday’s plenary informed that the proposed farm estates are to serve as pilot projects which will be used to develop other farm settlements across the state.

Other farm settlements in the state, which were not covered in the CBN loan facility as requested by Governor Makinde included; farm settlements in Ipapo in Oke-Ogun geo-politcal zone, Fashola farm settlement in Ilora Afijio local government Area, Iresaadu, Ijaiye, and Lalupon in Lagelu Local government area.

This approval makes it the second loan so far approved for Governor Seyi Makinde by the lawmakers within five months having earlier endorsed a N10 billion infrastructure loan request in July.

It was reliably gathered that the two farm settlements are housed  in Ido/Ibarapa East Federal constituency where the Speaker, Ogundoyin  hailed from.

However, not satisfied with the choice of the two farm settlements to enjoy the loan facility out of the many others in the state, the lawmakers insisted that the loan should be spread across other farm settlements.

In their separate reactions, Hon. Isiaka Tunde representing Oyo East/ Oyo West State Constituency and his counterpart from Iseyin/Itesiwaju, Hon. Dele Adeola expressed their dissatisfaction on concentration on the loan, challenging the rationale for selecting two farm settlements within only one Federal constituency (Ibarapa East/Iddo). They maintained that the loan be spread to other parts of the state.

Also corroborating the lawmakers’ position, the Deputy Speaker, Mr Abiodun Fadeyi and the Minority Leader, Mr Asimiyu Alarape further called for the extension of the loan facility to other farm settlements in the state .

The duo, however urged the  executive arm of government  to ensure judicious use of the agricultural loan to enable it achieve the purpose for which it is sought, while other lawmakers, also enjoined Governor Makinde to spread the loan facility to take care of other areas.

Despite heated debate by members on the issue, the Speaker, Hon. Ogundoyin finally ruled that the loan would be approved as presented by Governor Makinde.

“Other states have been accessing this agriculture loan facility, especially in the North. But we thank God the state government is ready to work with the federal government and provide counterpart funding to show seriousness in accessing this loan.

“We know that the CBN and federal government are interested in agricultural development and this is a blessing to Oyo state. Moreover, our own goal is to develop the state through agriculture. If we decide to spread the money as requested by some lawmakers, we might end up not achieving anything and have abandoned projects.

“These two projects can be the engine room for the other projects. We are taking the projects one at a time. If we can achieve two projects out of seven then for the remaining five, we do another two next year and thereafter, then we will be able to make progress”, Ogundoyin responded.

Considering his age and role in maintaining peace as well as fast tracking meaningful developments to Oyo State through effective legislation, many people received the news of Hon. Adeyemo’s untimely death with rude shock and disbelief.

One of the problems confronting the state in the past, especially in the 6th Assembly is the legislative crisis but Hon Micheal Adeyemo having served in the 7th Oyo Assembly under the leadership of Hon Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu ensured peace in the 8th Assembly.

Adeyemo, a seasoned legal practitioner was loved by all honourable members of the 8th Assembly irrespective of political faiths because of his leadership style and love displayed by him.

Unfortunately, the late Speaker, Adeyemo died few years after the demise of his first wife. His children are now orphans.

The death of the Lanlate born political icon in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo state remains the subject of discussion in his home town and Ibarapa land. This is indeed a big loss to Oyo State, Ibarapa land, the entire Adeyemo family, especially his aged parents and indeed all his friends and admirers.

Hon. Adesina Michael Adeyemo (AMA) also known as the ‘Gentle Giant’ was the second political figure from Ibarapa land who will emerged as Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly after Hon. Gbolagunte .

No doubt, Hon Adeyemo’s death nearly brought set back to the legislative activities at the chamber but the legislators in their wisdom quickly settled for the minority leader, Hon. Olagunju Ojo to step into the number one position of the Oyo Assembly.

Interestingly, Hon. Olagunju Ojo led Oyo Assembly has, also consolidated on the achievements recorded by the late Speaker, Hon. Adeyemo.

Adeyemo’s nonviolent and peace approach was considered as panacea for the achievements recorded by the 8th Oyo State House of Assembly.

Mr. Speaker, continue to rest in peace, in the bosom of our Lord!
