AFTERMATH of the just concluded June 2 bye election in Ibarapa East state constituency, more facts was revealed on how the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) lost the election to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

An adage says, “if there is no crack in the wall, it is very difficult for lizard to enter”. This goes for some members of the ruling APC who then formed the APC Unity Forum who worked collectively for the downfall of APC in the recent Ibarapa East state constituency Bye election.

Although, without the support of APC Unity Forum, APC dominated four wards in Lanlate with an impressive votes compared to 2015 general election but that margin is not enough for Olukunle Adeyemo to succeed his elder brother’s seat, Hon. Michael Adeyemo as in the case of Senator Isiaka Adeleke and Chief Ademola Adeleke because members of Unity Forum voted for Accord Party, (AP).

With dashing away of APC votes to Accord Party (AP) candidate, this give room for the son of late philanthropist and Industrialist, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin.

The victory of Hon Adebo Ogundoyin was capitalized on division in APC which later turned to inter city votes.

Shortly after the election, it was gathered that members of the APC unity forum went round the city to celebrate the downfall of the party and rejoice with the PDP on its victory

Mega Icon Magazine was at the Town Hall meeting in Lanlate where the Ibarapa North East Local Council Development Area gaffer, Honourable Yinus Olanrewaju Olaosegba briefed APC members and people of the council area about the development in the progressive fold.

The meeting which had in attendance Chief Timothy Jolaoso Apostle Aderounmu, Community leaders, religious leaders and members of the APC also featured distribution of empowerment materials such as Motorcycles, Deep Freezers, Cooking Gas and Standing fans amongst others.

While addressing the people of Ibarapa North East LCDA, Hon Olaosegba who urged members of APC in the council area, also appreciated the people of Lanlate and its environs for their support given to APC in the recent local government poll and Ibarapa East state constituency Bye election.

https://iso.keq.mybluehost.me/editorial-oyo-apc-not-too-late-to-unite-2/

He explained that despite efforts by some people who have benefited from the APC government in the past, including the immediate Caretaker Chairman of Ibarapa North East LCDA aimed at destroying the structure of the party at the council area, assuring that the party will gradually overcome its challenges.

According to Olaosegba, “I enjoin members of APC to be more committed to the party, becareful of some people who have benefited from 7 years of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s government and still condemned the present administration”.

The Council Boss after the concluded ward, local government and state congresses, personally had several meetings with aggrieved members with a view to settle the matter once and for all but reverse is the case.

Hon Olaosegba stressed that reconciliation efforts is going on and there is room for aggrieved members to come back to the progressive fold.

Also in there separate remarks, Chief Timothy Jolaoso, Apostle Aderounmu and other APC chieftains said since inception of politics in Nigeria Lanlate have been a strong hold of Progressive Party.

They pledged their support for Abiola Ajimobi led government, while calling on aggrieved members to be shift swords for the interest of peace and advancement of APC in Ibarapa North East LCDA.

The leaders also commended the Chairman, Ibarapa North East LDCA, Hon Olaosegba for his giant strides since his assumption into office.

THE Executive Council and members of the National Association of Public Affairs Analysts (NAPAA) have expressed deep shock over the sudden death of Rt. Hon. Michael Adeyemo, Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly.

In a release signed by Prince Seun Adelore and Comrade Jare Ajayi, President and Secretary General respectively, a copy which was made available to Mega Icon Magazine, the association recalled that the late legislator was a ‘gentleman to the core’.

https://iso.keq.mybluehost.me/oyo-govt-declares-3-day-mourning-for-late-speaker/

“In addition to being a gentleman, Adeyemo was also a man of integrity and a team player. It is noteworthy that throughout his political and legal career, no known scandal was traced to him. This is exemplary, given the scandal -infested nature of Nigeria’s political space.”

The group commiserates with his family, the Oyo State House of Assembly, Oyo State Government and indeed Nigerians over the irreparable loss.

The public affairs analysts then called on politicians to emulate the good virtues of the late Speaker and always remember the mortal nature of us human beings – by doing good all the time.
