This operation, which took place in the early hours of Friday, was a well-coordinated raid conducted by troops of the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army in collaboration with DSS operatives.

According to Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the suspects were believed to be planning a significant operation in Kano.

“Consequently, the troops promptly took action and apprehended two BHT suspects, who are now in custody,” the statement confirmed.

“During the operation, the joint troops of the Nigerian Army and the DSS recovered the following: five AK-47 Rifles, five AK-47 Rifle Magazines, one Rocket-Propelled Gun (RPG), five RPG Bombs, six Hand Grenades, five pairs of Desert Camouflage Uniforms, 10 pairs of magazine pouches, and some materials for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).”

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu reiterated the army’s commitment to addressing the nation’s security challenges, emphasising that this operation exemplifies effective interagency collaboration.

He emphasised that the successful raid operation underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.

The army spokesperson affirmed the military’s determination to combat and diminish insurgency and other security issues nationwide.

He further encouraged Nigerians to provide the army and other security agencies with timely and credible information that can assist ongoing operations to combat insecurity, assuring that the military is fully committed to safeguarding the citizens.
