The group, in a statement issued by its secretary, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun said it was unfortunate that Majekodunmi allowed himself to be used to disrupt the peace in the ADC, adding that history will not remember him for good.

Majekodunmi, had earlier accused some elements within the Unity Forum of being behind the problems in the party.

This is due to the accusations that have trailed the alleged hijacked of the party by loyalists of former governor Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Michael Koleoso.

Majekodunmi in the press briefing insisted that every leader of the groups that formed the ADC in the state, including the Unity Forum was carried along in all the decisions taken before and during the congresses.

Puncturing the claims, Olatubosun accused Majekodunmi of being used to scuttle the plan of the ADC to send the ruling APC packing in the forthcoming elections.

The statement reads, “before any state congress, there should be a valid list of delegates who are going to decide on behalf of their people. There was nothing like this. Only 5 local government areas were ready with their lists. There was no appeal committee. How can you do something like that without appeal committee.

“It is so unfortunate that Majekodunmi is reminding us of the event of the past. If not, why would someone who admitted wrongdoings in a meeting he did with us three days ago will now turn around to say another thing. In a meeting he held with us at the residence of Dr Busari Adebisi, he admitted that they didn’t use delegates’ list but discretion. Are we using discretionary Excos?”, Olatunbosun questioned.

Asking him to justify how he inaugurated the Excos that emerged without congress, Olatubosun continued, “anybody without integrity won’t mind doing something like this.

“If he wants to deny that those people emerged through congress as they have claimed, they should present the ballot papers, the results and if it through affirmation, let’s see names of those who agreed to it.”

Olatubosun said he was not surprised as it was a Majekodunmi that was used to remove the late Premier Obafemi Awolowo during the First Republic.

He alleged that Majekodunmi is being used to destroy Oyo State, asking why only people loyal to Ladoja got all the major positions.

“Why is that only Ladoja group got all the major positions. The Chairman, Secretary, Organizing Secretary, Treasurer, Youth Leader and Publicity Secretary are all loyalists of Ladoja. If truly Unity Forum agreed to harmonisation, he should show us what we are given in the Excos. It is so unfortunate. And we will not sit and watch while our future is being trampled upon,” he added.

Contained in a communique issued by the Forum which was presented by its leader, Chief Busari Adebisi at the press conference held at his Ring road residence, the Unity forum; while leaving avenue for the resolution of the alleged impunity, also threatened to consider any other option for its teeming members to realise their political ambitions as well as that of its numerous supporters yearning for good governance.

Explaining reasons why its members opposed the imposed party executives on them, the group said the congress was illegal, unconstitutional and invalid.

According to the group, “notice of postponement was well circulated among members and delegates for the state congress of the party, who then decided to remain at their council and go about their daily activities following the postponement

” Till date, no further notice regarding the postponement has been given to the members of the party.

” On the 28th August, a meeting was held at the house of Chief Michael Koleoso between himself and Chief Rashidi Ladoja and their supporters who joined the party 21 days ago with the exclusion of members of Unity Forum where a purpurted list of state executive members of the party was generated and shared offices among themselves”.

Yinka Olona, a members of the old ADC, also hinted that they had earlier petitioned the National working Committe where they called for outright cancellation of the congress results because it was done in secrecy and does not represents the interest of the larger percentage of the party members.

Senator Monsurat Sumonu, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, however assured the members of the forum that the crisis would be resolve soon.

She said, the efforts is not for personal gain but to liberate the masses from the oppressed members of the society.

The meeting had in attendance the following leaders Alhaji Isiaka Alimi, Chief Goke Oyetunji, Dr. Kola Balogun, Alhaji Gani Alade, Engineer Remi Olaniyan, Hon Lasun Adebunmi, Barrister Yissau Sallam, Hon Kolade Olagunju among others.

The Press Conference scheduled to hold by 10:00am at Chief Busari Adebisi’s house located around Mobil/ Ring road axis of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital did not indicate issues to be addressed at the conference.

However, it is expected that the alleged imposition of ADC executives in Oyo state by former governor Rashidi Ladoja and Chief Michael Koleoso, might feature in this address.

The APC said the union of the two notable politicians with some others reminded the party of a submission by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo can never be a good friend to any progressive. It pointed out that the current union in a party led by the former president can not produce any good fruits because Obasanjo and Ladoja’s character is well known to politicians and Nigerians in general.

The party insisted that Koleoso, who is a true progressive will soon find out that he does not have a place in the new house he is joining them to build because of their different world views and approaches to politics and governance.

The APC said it was watching the direction of the alliance, assuring that it is clear that it will head for the rocks.

It further assured its teeming members and supporters that the alliance is no cause for alarm because the APC stands firm in Oyo State and all across Nigeria.
