In Yoruba parlance, especially when elders want to guide a promising youth against early fall, they tell him or her that palm oil always goes after white fabrics on destructive mission. This metaphor is a warning to the youth not to lose his head while the flame of his or her fame is burning.

A childhood friend of the late Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, at a public gathering in memory of Barrister in 2013, revealed that his friend had and maintained a split image divided between Sikiru and Barrister.

He told the very, very attentive audience that Sikiru was not Barrister and vice versa. The man, Alhaji Mojeed Kareem, unfortunately also late now, explained that the moment Barrister, coming from functions, stepped the entrance of his Fuji Chamber, he dropped Barrister and put on Sikiru, the no non-sense, fast-talking Mushin-born who was as human as any other person.

But when he was back to town and on stage, he transformed again to Barrister who must watch what he did, how he did it and particularly his endurance level. Why? He was tutored that he was that white fabrics while the people he met in the public could be that palm oil.

That’s what must have informed the gentleman treatment he accorded that woman who sneaked into his living room in Isolo and told him that she was his biological mother, not Alhaja Sifawu Odee whom he was advertising to the world in his albums. That was 1986.

If the evidently provoked Barrister had given in to the burning fire in him and reacted as such, he would have found himself at the wrong side of the law and possibly had his goodwill injured and his music career burnt to ashes.

The wisdom here is that celebrities should always be in charge of themselves, regardless of situations they find themselves. They shouldn’t be carried away by smiles or hard look of the public to fall cheaply and stupidly too into veiled traps by which they are surrounded.

Alhaja Waka Queen Salawa Abeni is a happy woman today because she treated her latest story well. Her prompt release, in which she alerted the world about a danger hovering on her roof, killed the matter, for it is timely. The sincerity, contained in the content of the release, won her sympathy which she couldn’t have got had she reacted differently and denied that aspect of her past. She has, thus, won the war which would have somehow affected her improving health again.

Assuredly, however, hers is not going to mark the end of such scandal as our celebrities appear to be unmindful of their status, thereby engaging in series of unholy acts behind the curtain and sometimes in the public.

They should be reminded that lens of phones is watching everyone, everwhere and everything. So they should watch their back so that they don’t receive Salawa message.

Prof. Onyeka Nwelue has declared that all Nigerian celebrities are broke.

The film director and author while advising Nigerians to be real, added that Mavin boss, Don Jazzy is broke and a tenant.

According to him, celebrities don’t have the money they claim they have, adding that they are all struggling and live a fake life just for social media.

On his Instagram page @onyekanwelue, he wrote:

Dear Young Nigerians,

“Garb yourself with some self-esteem, self-confidence and self-pride. We are all poor. Us and the celebrities. All the celebrities in Nigeria.

“Linda Ikeji is not a celebrity. She is a business woman. So she is not one of those broke celebrities.

“Every celebrity in Nigeria is broke. They are like me. They don’t have the money they tell you they have. Many of them I have seen their bank statements. I don’t care if they start avoiding me now. I know better. Stop feeling inadequate, young people.

“You see as I beg for money publicly, that is how these celebrities suffer and beg for money secretly.

“When I was writing Hip-Hop is Only for Children, I spent time travelling with many of them and I know the truth. Let them shut up. Now HushPuppi and his bitches have dragged Ugo Mozie into their rubbish.

Don Jazzy is a tenant. He is broke. Forget everything.D’Banj is hustling every day to feed.

“Davido spends the money they pay for every show.

“Sinach and Frank Edwards are richer than these guys. This, I know! I am tired of all the social media haranguing and brouhaha and lies and show! And you will say, How e take concern you?

“I am angrily writing this because those of you who feel because you are not famous and so you think you are poor, remember it is the little cash that you people send to our accounts that make us dey do iyanga.

“Forget all the foreign trips. Do you know how many people who buy me flight tickets?

“When you talk about wealth, people who are wealthy don’t throw them around on social media.

“Be yourself because I have seen their bank details. And I know we are all struggling.

“Fuck inferiority. You folks who think fame is fortune need to relax. You are better than us!‎”

IT is not a gainsaying that the Nigeria Entertainment scene reign supreme and most of these celebrities are always identified as semi-god. They have made their way into the hearts of the people who dream to be like them, but there is one thing their fans would never pray for, which is failed marriages and heartbreaks.

The growing list of failed marriages in the Nigeria Entertainment Industry calls for redress as this development continue to increase, some of them have remained eligible spinsters and Bachelors, but this ugly act is more rampant among the female celebrities that suppose to be a good example to house wives, some of who pride them as role models. The list of celebrities in this category is endless and inexhaustible.

Mega Icon Magazine took up a gospel singer who has recorded tremendous success in her career, Evangelist Rachael Olubukola Akinade popularly known as “Senwele Jesu” on this ugly development.

Akinade expressed her dissatisfaction on this social malady which has turned to a social crisis especially among female Artistes.

In an encounter with Mega Icon Magazine, she said “the Bible even confirmed it that whoever find a wife, finds a good thing and obtain favour from the Lord, so being a celebrity or star does not give the chance or permission to be the lord over our husbands. The Lord has made our Men our heads, no matter whom we are as a celebrity or icon, we need to see our husbands as our heads, so inability to submit to their orders, accord them respect and see them as our tin god is one of the causes of these failed marriages”, she stated confidently.

The gospel music icon further revealed that most of these female celebrities see themselves on top of the World, believing that, they have attained the peak and above control.

“If their husband says, this is how I want it to be, they find it difficult to bend to their hubby’s wish and there is no man, no matter how gentle he is, if a woman tries to put on her ego, men would definitely reacts”, she reiterated.

Stressing further, she counseled that men must also honour their wives as respect is reciprocal, they should also see the female folks as a weaker vessels and handle them with great care while the celebrities should also pay back these kind gestures.

Evangelist Akinade did not fail to appeal to celebrities to forget about their stardom, fame and whom they are when it comes to their homes, because without having a good home, even if, they progress in their careers, the respect would not be there.

While advising them not to compete but be submissive to their hubbies at least for a moment and make their opinion known in a polite way, since there is no perfect marriage, it is full of ups and downs, so we need to manage each other, she advised.
