Members of the committee included Governor Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa state, former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, former Senators Adesoji Akanbi, Musiliu Obanikoro, as well as Hon Abba Jatua, and Hon. Usani Uguru Usani.

Others are , Hon. Makinde Peter Abiola, Chief. (Mrs). IfyUgo-Okoye, Benedict Godson, Ideato C Ideato.

It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was conceived as a mass movement party.

During the 2015 election, the party benefited heavily from the popularity of President Mohammadu Buhari.

This popularity, according to the party,  needs to be reinvigorated. As a result of this, the newly inaugurated high-powered committee is expected to evaluate where the party stands, what is needed to retain power ahead of the 2023 general elections and suggest ideas or initiative that can enhance APC’s stature as a mass oriented party.

Also, the committee is charged with the responsibility of making APC the party for all Nigerian.

According to the ruling party, the committee is further charged to “explore ways and means of reaching out to party supporters. (Party supporters not necessarily party members) to ensure their support is not waning.

“Research and find ways to make the party attractive to youths and women who constitutes the major voting bloc in Nigeria.

“Create a framework for headhunting talented individuals from different parts of the country to enhance the pull of talent within the party.

“At the national level, solicit the good will of major religious groups such as; CAN, Catholic Bishops Conference, ULAMA, Students Union Leadership and other such organisations.

“Create the basis for viable relationship with the apex organs of the various socio-cultural groupings in the country, working in synergy with the regional sub-committees.

“Establish creative ways of reaching teenagers who will in the nearest future mature into the voting population”.
