The party bigwigs with the PDP leader in the State who are to embark on the tour reportedly comprised the state Chairman,  Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, and other state party executives.

The PDP train will berths in Ibadan North East LG on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 while Ibadan North LG and Ibadan South West LG will host Sen Ladoja and the state executives on Wednesday, May  23, 2018.

Also, on Thursday, May 24, 2018, Ibadan North East LG will play host to the leadership of PDP and Friday, May  25, 2018 will be the turn of Ibadan North West LG.

The  state chairman,  Mustapha, however urged party faithful to see themselves as potential government in waiting and to come out in their large number to welcome the delegation.

In a related development, the ex -governor of  Oyo state who is also the overall leader of the party in the state, Sen Ladoja has enjoined all party members to close ranks and join hands with him and Alh Kunmi Mustapha led executives to deliver Oyo State to PDP come 2019 elections.

According to the party spokesman, Engr Akeem Olatunji, the visitation of  Ladoja and the PDP train will be announced in due course.

According to a press statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, on Monday in Ibadan and made available to Mega Icon magazine, Kunmi assured that in 2018, his total reconciliation agenda being supported by the leader in the state, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, would be pursued vigorously among party members and leaders.

The statement reads, “as the country joins the rest of the world in celebrating Christmas which commemorates the fulfillment of God’s promise of the birth of a Messiah, the Chairman assures all party members of a level playing ground for all our aspirants while impunity and imposition would be a thing of the past.

“Alh. Mustapha also assures the members that under his leadership, Oyo State PDP will continue to work diligently to give full effect to its plans to redirect her energy and resources from wasteful and unproductive areas to identified priority area including mobilization, recruiting new members, adequate publicity for party activities and constructive criticism of the government policies not favourable to the masses.

“The Chairman will continue to count on the support, cooperation and goodwill of all party members as PDP will strive to quicken the pace of development across the State once PDP is given mandate to lead Oyo State come 2019 elections.

“In this regard, he urges the citizens to reflect on the themes of piety, love, honesty, patience, humility, selflessness and sacrifice for the good of all which dominate Biblical accounts of Christ’s mission on earth in the belief that the country will make faster progress towards the fulfillment of its immense potentials if more of its citizens imbibe these virtues, and to apply them constantly in the service of the nation and in their daily lives”, its continued.

Mega Icon Magazine learnt that while upholding the list of executives that belongs to ACCORD, SDP, Labour Party and AD, the party instructed that the executive slots allocated to the old PDP block with the exemption of the State chairmanship position will be investigated for necessary review if need be.

In a chat with Mega Icon Magazine, the former Oyo Accord Party spokesman, Engr. Akeem Olatunji hinted that the Ahmed Makarfi led NCC made this revelation during a meeting with the Oyo State leadership of the party at Wadata House, Abuja on Friday.

It was gathered that the  meeting also had in attendance party faithfuls who felt aggrieved over the results of the State Congress held at Watershed events centre in Ibadan.

According to him, the  Panel upheld Kunmi’s victory having examined all the petitions filed before it.

“To this end, the leadership enjoins all party members and supporters in Oyo State, to put the issue regarding the State Congress behind them.
“We should work together as one indivisible family ahead of the 2019 elections,” quoting the National Caretaker Chairman.

In his remarks, the newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Kunmi while playing host to party faithfuls who thronged his home yesterday described his victory as an act of God, calling on his contender to join him in the arduous task of rescuing Oyo State from the misrule of APC.

He, however urged all PDP members to see themselves as brothers and sisters with a common goal to contribute positively to the growth of the State and by extension, Nigeria.

On the contrary, the defunct SDP publicist in Oyo state,  Mr Akeem Azeez through his facebook page dismissed the information describing it as untrue.

His statement reads,  “this is far from the truth as both leaders from both congresses are meeting and holding consultations with National leaders to find amicable solution to the disagreement that led to the parallel congresses.

“We are part of the reconciliation meeting held in Abuja on the congresses last Wednesday and the National leaders of the party led by the National Caretaker chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi and there was no time did the party leaders made such statement. They have only promised to investigate the matter and make their findings and resolutions known to the general public”.

He, therefore enjoined party members and members of the public to disregard such information and wait till party National leaders make available official statement on the final verdict on the matter.
