Rural Community Roads: OYSROMA to partner LG chairs on rehabilitation

Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, has announced its readiness to collaborate with all the  Local Government and Local Council Development Authorities, LCDA administrations in the State on road rehabilitation in order to foster accelerated execution of road repairs in the rural areas.
The Chairman, Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, Hon. Kamil Akinlabi Mudashiru, made this known during the touring of the agency to zonal operational offices at Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun, Oyo and Ogbomoso zones on Thursday.
Akinlabi, who was in company of the board members like Hon. Siju Lawal, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon. Matthew Akano from Oyo South Senatorial District, the General Manager, Engr. Mrs Modinat Oduola and management staff of the agency, hinted that the cooperation and support of the local government areas and Local Council Development Authorities as well as the local communities could not be underestimated in planning and execution of road rehabilitation.
“We can not underestimate the efforts of our local government areas and councils in the planning, be it logistics. We shall collaborate with them in all our projects for accelerated execution, the local communities hold the ace in development of the State as most of the wealth-creating resources are in the rural areas.
“Agriculture can only thrive if the rural roads are well paved for transportation of farm produce, this will empower farmers and open up opportunities for youths to get empowerment through farming and other natural resources, so all we crave is the support and collaboration of the council administrations and community leaders.”
The Chairman added that the State government would procure necessary equipment to facilitate road rehabilitation in all the zones, noting that personnel would be deployed to all the zones for ease of operation.
“I want to assure you that the state government will procure necessary equipment for road rehabilitation in all the zones and we have good hands, in terms of engineers and other professionals who will be deployed to all the zones for ease of operations.”
Akinlabi called on all the Caretaker Chairmen, community leaders and the people in all the zones to see road facilities as theirs, stressing that their cooperation and support would go a long way in making the operations of the agency a hitch free one.
