Engr. Aderemi Oseni, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency, last Saturday donated N2million to Oke-Oba Baptist Church, Eruwa in Ibarapa East local government area of Oyo state.
Oseni, who was the Chief launcher at the 75th anniversary of the church, also pledged to donate an evangelism bus after his victory.
This is contained in a statement by Idowu Ayodele, the Director, Media and Publicity of Remi Oseni Campaign Council,(ROCC), on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Speaking at the diamond jubilee anniversary held at the Church Auditorium, the renowned business mogul and clergy rejoiced with pastors, religious, laity, and the entire members on the joyous occasion.
Oseni, who is a leading candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency seat noted that being a chief launcher of the occasion is a great honour, encouraging others to contribute positively to the upliftment of the ministry as well as to ensure that the House of God is progressing.
“Whenever we are called for donations like this, we should give what’s in our capacity and shouldn’t focus on invitees alone for givers never lack. So, when we give generously and sacrificially, it’s not because God needs anything, but because we want to show our love for him. Giving is an expression of obedience, but also of gratitude, trust, and increasing joy”, the statement added.
According to the APC candidate, the church had for 75 years displayed commitment and dedication to spreading the good news of salvation.
The structural engineer urged the constituents to be steadfast in prayers for the federal constituency, Oyo state and Nigeria to overcome current challenges, expressing optimism that with prayers and positive actions, the country would triumph.
While expressing concern over the deficient representation and level of poverty the constituents have been exposed to by the political oppressors, he promised to change the situation for the better if elected, calling on the entire people of Ibarapa East and Ido local governments to support him to succeed.
Also speaking at the epoch-making event, former Senator Peter Adeyemo, paid a glowing tribute to Oseni for giving a new lease of life to the constituents through his various impacting projects and programmes.
Adeyemo, who represented Oyo South Senatorial District between 1999-2023 publicly declared his support for the APC candidate, enjoining the electorate to cast their votes for him.
The revered political figure and community leader specifically thanked Oseni for his vision, dedication and commitment towards rescuing the federal constituency and restoring its lost glory.
Adeyemo, however, prayed for Nigeria to be better and stronger.
