The newly installed honorary chieftaincy title holder of the Ekotedo community, Prof. James Akanmu, has been urged to remain steadfast in his commitment to the growth, progress, and development of the community—qualities that paved the way for his installation.
This charge was given by the Chairman of the Yoruba World Assembly and Baale of Ekotedo, Elder (Dr.) Taiye Ayorinde, during the installation ceremony of Prof. Akanmu as the Aare Asiwaju Mayegun of Ekotedo, Ibadan.
The event took place at Baale’s palace, located at 105, Behind Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Prof. Akanmu expressed his excitement at the opportunity to use his new role as a platform to further serve his people.
He highlighted that the title aligns with his long-standing dedication to improving the lives of Ibadan indigenes, particularly those less privileged.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Akanmu thanked the Baale of Ekotedo for the opportunity to serve in a higher capacity.
He affirmed that the recognition was a testament to his commitment to the community, pledging to intensify his efforts in making a positive impact.
“I will continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of our people, ensuring that the trust placed in me is not misplaced,” Prof. Akanmu assured the gathering.
