The governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State during the 2019 general election, Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has been installed as the Osi Bashorun Of Ibadanland by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Oguguniso I.
Speaking on Saturday at the installation held at the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Adetunji extolled the great virtues of the new Osi Bashorun Of Ibadanland especially in the area of helping the needy and the numerous goodwill he has brought to bear on Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole.
Oba Adetunji described Dr Adeduntan as a worthy son of Ibadanland and a shinning light of Ibadan who has projected the name of Ibadan internationally.
Remarking shortly after the installation, the immediate past Commissioner for Health in the state thanked the monarch for the trust and confidence reposed in him which earned him the title.
He explained that he has contributed so much to the socio – economic development of Ibadanland and Oyo State with the establishment of his foundation – Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan Foundation (DAPAF) among other goodies he has brought to the city.
The cardiovascular surgeon turned politician disclosed that henceforth he will always make himself available for the medical upkeep of the Olubadan.
Also, the wife of the new Chief, Mrs Omolara Adeduntan expressed her readiness to support her husband in promoting the cause of Ibadan land.
